Baby John has got a full-fledged OTT release on Prime Video after being available for rent. The film starring Varun Dhawan in the titular role has been among the last releases of 2024. Kalees helmed the action thriller Baby John, and this film is a reimagining of Atlee's 2016 Tamil film Theri. Keerthy Suresh made her Hindi film debut with the flick, which also stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Zara Zyanna, and Jackie Shroff among the supporting cast.

In Baby John, a sex-trafficking group interrupts John and his daughter Khushi's tranquil lives in Kerala. The lead saves young girls, exacts punishment on criminals, and pursues vengeance for the murder of his family in his previous role as Deputy Commissioner Satya. Then he starts over his life after tragedy strikes.

Theatrical release and box office performance
On Christmas Eve, 2024, Baby John debuted in theatres to mixed, unfavourable reviews and a disastrous financial performance.
In addition to Kiran Koushik's cinematography and Ruben's editing, Thaman S. composed the score for the film.
Character adaptations from Theri
The part that Samantha Ruth Prabhu played in Theri was played by Keerthy in the Hindi remake. The role played by Amy Jackson was filled by Wamiqa Gabbi. Playing the role of the main antagonist, late Mahendran, was Jackie Shroff in Baby John.
Sheeba Chaddha and Rajpal Yadav featured in the roles previously played by Radhika Sarathkumar and Rajendran, respectively. Sunaina previously featured Sanya Malhotra in a cameo as one of Varun's potential brides. Before Salman Khan and Atlee could work together on a film, the superstar made a special appearance in the climax.

The domestic box office opening day earnings for Baby John were anticipated to be between Rs. 11.25 and Rs. 13.5 crore nett. The film's overall worldwide gross as of the first week of January 2025 was Rs. 53.4 crore, with Rs. 39.74 crore coming from India and Rs. 13.66 crore worldwide. Its global gross was expected to be between Rs. 56.49 and Rs. 59 crore when it ended its run.
