Bachchhan Paandey is counting down the days until it hits theatres this month, and the makers are going all out with the film’s promotions. Star Akshay Kumar went all in as part of the promotions and ‘kidnapped’ the cast and crew of the film who were making their way from Mumbai to Delhi on a train.

In an amusing way of art imitating life, Kumar seems to have channeled his inner ‘gangster’ with the move. The actor recently flagged off a train bound for Delhi, which featured the posters of the upcoming film. The actor was joined by his co-stars and crew members from the film, including Kriti Sanon, Jacqueline Fernandes, Arshad Warsi, producer Warda Nadiadwala and Aroosa Khan. The crew will continue promotions for the film in Delhi. The makers had earlier also flagged a truck ride to the same location, called Bachchhan Paandey Ki Sawari.

In the upcoming film, Sanon essays the role of a journalist named Myra Devekar who aspires to be a filmmaker. When she tries to make a gangster film based on the life of a real-life gangster, she crosses paths with Bachchhan Paandey, portrayed by Kumar. The film is touted to be a remake of Karthik Subbaraj’s 2014 Tamil film, Jigarthanda, which starred Siddharth.

The upcoming film is directed by Farhad Samji, from a script he wrote along with Nischay Kuttanda. Pankaj Tripathi and Prateik Babbar will also feature in the film, which is produced by Nadiadwala.

Bachchhan Paandey will be released in theatres on March 18, 2022. Amazon Prime Video have availed the streaming rights to the film.
