Bachchhan Paandey: Farhad Samji says directing Akshay Kumar starrer was challenging and fun

Akshay Kumar is gearing up to set the screen on fire yet again with his upcoming film, Bachchhan Paandey. The star’s intense avatar in the film has gotten fans stoked to say the least, and helming the film too seemed to have been as daunting as it was thrilling, as Farhad Samji recently revealed.

In a press release, the filmmaker revealed that helming the film had brought its set of challenges, although, he did refer to the experience as ‘loving’ and ‘exciting’ as well. Samji said that sometimes, the excitement was a bit too much, but nevertheless he had a delightful time working with Kumar on the film, which marked his fourth collaboration with him after Entertainment (2014), Housefull 3 (2016) and Housefull 4 (2019). Samji shared how he had a good rapport with the actor and that he had also received a lot of support from his producer, Sajid Nadiadwala.

The director also expressed his happiness at the film’s trailer eliciting such a positive response form audiences, appreciating the cast for essayng their characters so well. He also expressed his hope that audiences would embrace the film with open arms and make it ‘housefull’.

In addition to Kumar, the upcoming action comedy film also features Kriti Sanon and Jacqueline Fernandez in pivotal roles, along with Arshad Warsi, Pankaj Tripathi, and Prateik Babbar.. The film is touted to be a remake of the Tamil film, Jigarthanda (2014), which was directed by Karthik Subbaraj.

Bachchhan Paandey will be released in theatres on March 18, 2022. Amazon Prime Video has acquired the streaming rights to the film.
