A couple of comedies, an inspirational tale and a riveting investigative thriller are among the titles available to stream this week

This week, the choices on OTT as far as Kannada content, both original and dubbed, goes, it’s a mixed bouquet including a comedy that didn’t work at the box office, a real-life inspirational story that audiences have been waiting eagerly for and an investigative thriller that received good reviews, among others.
Here is a look at what’s on OTT for Kannada audiences this week
Bachelor Party
Debutant director Abhijit Mahesh’s comedy about two friends ending up in Bangkok after night of drunken debauchery at another pal’s bachelor party. From figuring out how and why they reached Bangkok, to finding their way back, while also hot on the trail of someone that should not be in the same city, forms the crux of the tale that was produced by Rakshit Shetty. The film stars Diganth in the lead, along with Loose Mada Yogi, Siri Ravikumar, Balaji Manohar, Achyuth Kumar.

12th Fail
It’s been more than two months since the Vikrant Massey-led 12th Fail came to OTT in its Hindi original version, a time in which Kannada audiences have repeatedly made requests for the dubbed version to be made available. The demand arose, as the film’s theatrical release included a Kannada-dubbed version, so netizens wondered why it was not part of the OTT package back in December.
Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, 12th Fail is the true-life story of Manoj Kumar Sharma’s journey from failing in grade 12 to cracking the prestigious UPSC exam and becoming a high-ranking IPS official.

Ricky Stanicky
Zac Efron, Jermaine Fowler, Andrew Santino, Lex Scott Davis, and John Cena star in this comedy about a bunch of friends who’ve used an imaginary pal, Ricky Stanicky, to take the blame for all their misdemeanours of several years. When they are cornered and required to produce Ricky, they decide to hire a washed-up actor instead.

Anweshippin Kandethum
Tovino Thomas leads this investigative thriller in which he plays a sub inspector trying to redeem himself and his team after a botched missing case enquiry. Can he bring closure to a cold case that’s been assigned to him? Directed by Darwin Kuriakose, Anweshippin Kandethum was a box office success. The film’s ensemble cast also includes Siddique, Indrans, Vineeth Thattil David, Rahul Rajagopal, Shammi Thilakan, Anagha Ravi, among many others.
