Bachelor Party was the first of the lot of films ready at Rakshit Shetty’s Paramvah Studios to hit theatres. Rakshit has produced a handful of films by debutant directors, all of who, he thinks, will be assets for the Kannada film industry. Bachelor Party was directed by Abhijit Mahesh, who’s served as writer on other Paramvah Studios productions as well.

A comedy, Bachelor Party released in theatres for Republic Day, but the Diganth and Loose Maada Yogi-starrer did not work at the box office, on account of a rather lacklustre narrative. At the time of the release, the film did not have a streaming partner on board, but a few days ago, there were rumours of a deal with Amazon Prime Video. Turns out, the buzz was true and Bachelor Party is coming to the streamer, after all.

Earlier today, Paramvah Studios announced this association, adding that Bachelor Party will be available to stream from Monday, March 4, 12 am. The film follows Santhosh Manchale (Diganth), who is married to Sandhya (Siri Ravikumar) in a love-less marriage, what with the latter more invested in keeping her mother and her stay-in house help happy.

Santhosh, though, is averse to the idea of divorce and wants to try and make his marriage work, so much so that he even falls for the scam of a con artiste who promises to mend such broken relationships. When he then attends a bachelor party, without telling his wife, and then drinks a tad too much that he ends up taking off on an impromptu trip to Bangkok with childhood pal Maddy (Yogi), along with their PT master (Achyuth Kumar) forms the crux of the film.

Among Rakshit’s other productions, Sumanth Bhat’s Mithya and Shishir Rajmohan’s Abracadabra are doing the festival circuit. There’s no word on Strawberry yet, but Chandrajit Belliappa’s Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali is said to be the next theatrical release from the banner.
