The Gujarati drama, Bachubhai, which had released in July 2023 and stars Siddharth Randeria in the lead role, is all set for its digital release. The heartwarming family drama, which conveys a powerful message, will be available for streaming on ShemarooMe soon. The film also stars popular television actress Aparna Mehta.
The Gujarati drama will finally make its OTT premiere on ShemarooMe, on August 14, 2024. You can also watch this inspiring drama through OTTplay Premium. The film was released last year in July, and earned Rs. 2.87 crore at the box office in Gujarat within seven days.
The plot revolves around an ageing man named Bachubhai, who in a bid to get back his career returns to his college classroom to pursue his graduation degree. The film then explores whether the graduation degree will help him stand up to society and the corporate system.
The heartwarming film won favorable reviews upon its release, and the humourous elements in the storyline impressed the viewers.
Apart from Siddharth Randeria as Bachubhai and Aparna Mehta as his wife Nirmala, the Gujarati family drama boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Amit Singh Thakur. Thakur is also quite famous in the television industry for working in Naagin, Punar Vivaah. He has also featured in Bollywood films such as Race 3 and Haseen Dillruba (2021).
Bachubhai also has some known Gujarati actors like Naman Gor, Poorvi Palan, Arshi Vohra, and Om Bhatt in pivotal roles.
Popular television actress Aparna Mehta, who is known for daily soaps such as Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (2000-2008), made her debut in the Gujarati entertainment industry with Bachubhai in 2023. In an earlier interview with Times of India, the actress had said that her collaboration with actor Siddharth Randeria had been very exciting and inspirational, and she would love to work with him again.
