The streaming giant Netflix is coming up with another series on time travel. The Brazilian series titled Back to 15 stars Maisa Silva, Amanda Azevedo, Lucca Picon, and Camila Queiroz, among others. The coming-of-age drama is adapted from Bruna Vieira’s book of the same name.
Scripted by Janaina Tokitaka, the series follows the life of a 30-year-old Anita who had dreamt of travelling to several places and meeting new people by the time she hits that age. But her life has turned out to be nothing like she wished for. She returns to her hometown for her sister's wedding. Frustrated in life and people, she takes refuge in her old room with a computer where she had spent most of her adolescence. She wishes if she could undo whatever life she has led since she has turned 15 and gets transported to her first day at her high school. Soon, all the drama unfolds as she tries to figure out and fix other people's lives with a 30-year-old mind stuck in a 15-year-old body. Each change she makes then impacts and changes every character's future. She is seen struggling through all things that she believes need to be fixed until she realises that she cannot fix other people's lives but her own.
The drama, though as a repetitive concept, looks like a fun watch. The makers have released the trailer of season 1 of the series. Watch it here:
The series reminds you of the films like 13 Going on 30, the fantasy romantic-comedy film featuring Jennifer Garner whose birthday wish comes true as she wakes up as a 30-year-old woman after her 13th birthday. Meanwhile, the official synopsis of Netflix about Back to 15 reads, "Unhappy at work and in her personal life, Anita discovers a way to travel back to age 15. What will she change in her past? Starring Maisa."
The series will release on February 25 on Netflix.
