Bad Girl OTT release date: When and where to watch Varsha Bharath’s coming of age film

Bad Girl, the recently released Tamil coming-of-age drama, which explores the perspective of a young woman and made waves at the international film festival circuits, is all set to make its OTT debut. The film is backed by director Vetrimaaran and directed by Varsha Bharath. JioHotstar has bagged the streaming rights and announced the release date as November 4.

Bad Girl is a 2025 Tamil language film. Directed by Varsha Bharath in her directorial debut, who has assisted Vetrimaaran, Bad Girl is a coming-of-age tale. It stars Anjali Sivaraman in the lead role. JioHotstar which has bagged the OTT rights of the film announced on Monday that the film will premiere on November 4. Subscribers of OTTplay Premium can watch the film using their existing plans.

Notably, Vetrimaaran who produced Bad Girl, said during the film’s release that it will be the final film to come out from his production after he tasted the hardships of bringing a film to theatres. However, Bad Girl, which made quiet a splash at the international film circuits, did not fare well at the box office. The film bagged the NETPAC Award for Best Asian Film at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) and Young Jury Award for Best Feature Film at the 40th Cinema Jove - Valencia International Film Festival in Spain.

What is Bad Girl all about?

Bad Girl is essentially a coming-of-age story of a young woman, tracing her life from school until her early 30s. The film explores her relationship with family, boys, and friends, as she has to navigate the societal expectations, pressures and oppression. Led by Anjali Sivaraman, who was seen in Netflix’s Cobalt Blue and Class, Bad Girl also features Shanthi Priya, Saranya Ravichandran, Hridhu Haroon, TeeJay Arunasalam, Sashank Bommireddipalli in supporting roles.

It is shot by cinematographers Preetha Jayaraman (ISC), Jagadeesh Ravi, and Prince Anderson, and edited by Radha Sridhar, with Amit Trivedi scoring the music.
