Himesh Reshammiya's film Badass Ravikumar hit theatres on February 7 and the no-brainer actioner has grabbed everyone's attention. The buzz around the film was high right after its trailer was released online. The catchy one-liners helped the trailer to become one of the highest-watched clips on social media. Amid enjoying a great run at the box office, actress Kirti Kulhari opened up about becoming a part of Badass Ravikumar. In a recent interview, the actress said that her decision to star in the film has left many people shocked.
While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter India, Kirti, who has been a part of projects like Misson Mangal, Four More Shots Please!, Pink, and others, said that Badass Ravikumar was a deviation from what she does as an actor while Hisaab Barabar was a reminder of what she is known for. She recently featured in ZEE5's film Hisaab Barabar alongside R Madhavan and Neil Nitin Mukesh.
Kirit calls it a 'good balance'. She said, " With Badass… there are people who are shocked in a good way that I am coming up with something unexpected and new. But some are shocked in a bad way, thinking, ‘What has happened to her? We thought that she does only meaningful stuff?’"
Further, the actress said that people think that she did the film in 'majboori'. But she denied the claims and said, "Badass Ravi Kumar is a hardcore commercial film, which people didn’t see coming from me; that’s why people don’t know how to take it. They are wondering if I did the film in some majboori (compulsion). But I did the film because otherwise I would have taken myself too seriously."
Badass Ravikumar also stars Johnny Lever, Prabhu Deva, Saurabh Sachdeva, Sunny Leone, and Sanjay Mishra in key roles. It is helmed by Keith Gomes. According to early estimates, the action spoof has collected Rs 6.75 Cr to date.
