Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2: After Nakuul Mehta, Disha Parmar also quits the hit daily soap

Disha Parmar, an actress best known for her role as Pankhuri in Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara, is currently winning over audiences as Priya in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2. Recently, news of Nakuul Mehta's departure from the Ekta Kapoor show made headlines. Now b ecause Disha is quitting the show, the show is currently making headlines once more.

Disha is currently uncomfortable with the character's ageing, thus she is quitting the show, but moving on to new projects.

Disha Parmar revealed in a recent interview with ETimes that she will no longer be playing Priya in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2. The actress gave the following justification for leaving the show: “Earlier too, when the makers introduced a leap and I had to play a mom to a five-year old girl, I had my apprehensions. But, then the track was very interesting and I enjoyed it. I decided to go ahead with it and it was a great experience.” 

The actress explained her decision to leave her role as Priya in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 by saying, “But, now with the 20-year leap, I felt that I have given my best to the show and after one-and-a-half years, it’s time to move on. I would not say I am quitting the show, but moving on to new projects and new beginnings. Bade… was a great experience and I enjoyed it thoroughly.”

Disha feels that shows might become repetitive and thinks it's difficult to create new episodes every day. The actress talked about the tune from Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 and how there was a lot to explore in the show and how long it lasted because of its content. She admitted that although she mainly enjoyed portraying Priya, there were were days when she wasn't happy. Disha also thinks that Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 was different because she believes that television has changed and developed beyond sass bahu politics. She believes that while TV content has changed, it still has a ways to go.

Ekta Kapoor, a producer, tried her best to convince them but was unsuccessful. Nakuul and Disha reportedly believed that if they played older characters in the show, they might not be chosen as the lead actors in the future.
