Playing a villain on screen is not something new for Prithviraj Sukumaran, as he has previously portrayed the antagonist in several films, including Krithyam (2005) and Kuruthi (2021). Now, the actor-filmmaker is gearing up to play the bad guy in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, which pits him against Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff.

A sleek antagonist with AI

A report in Mid Day stated that, according to sources, unlike brawny baddies who rely solely on force, director Ali Abbas Zafar has created Prithviraj's character as a sleek anti-hero, an ambitious scientist who employs artificial intelligence (AI) to achieve his aim.

The source also revealed that the actor was Zafar's first choice for the role. While Prithviraj's widespread popularity was an influence, the filmmaker had another motivation for making the decision. According to the report, Zafar considered Prithviraj for the part because of his acting credentials. While the director envisioned the picture as an Akshay and Tiger action film, he also created a vast arc for the anti-hero. Kabir, a suave and highly intellectual scientist, battles with his mind rather than force. Ali thought Prithviraj would be a good fit based on his personality. When the actor read the script, he knew Kabir had a significant role. The actor is rumoured to have a fantastic look in the upcoming Eid release. The source goes on to say that the makers kept his appearance under wraps and did not even reveal it in the teaser.

A venture into major production

While Zafar and his business partner Himanshu Mehra have previously backed Jogi (2022) and Bloody Daddy (2023), Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is their first major production. The filmmaker, who is producing the film alongside Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani, is pleased with Prithviraj's casting, saying that he is privileged to work with a South Indian superstar like him, and he is an excellent actor. He learned a lot from him.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar, and Alaya F as the leading ladies.
