Badhaai Do gets a new release date: Here's when Rajkummar Rao-Bhumi Pednekar starrer will hit the big screen

Two weeks back, the makers of Badhaai Do announced that the film would be released during the Republic Day weekend in 2022. Bhumi Pednekar took to her social media pages and shared the news about the postponement of the film's release. Now, Badhaai Do, also starring Rajkummar Rao, is set to hit the big screens on February 4, 2022. The film is directed by Harshavardhan Kulkarni.

The statement shared by Bhumi reads, "Badhaai Do will now be released in theatres on February 4, 2022! We cannot wait for you to witness this family entertainer on the big screen. See you at the movies! @rajkummar_rao @jungleepictures #HarshavardhanKulkarni #AkshatGhildial @sumadhikary."

While sharing the news, the Durgamati actor captioned her post, "Love has a new date! Badhaai Do will now be released on the big screen in the month of love. The new release date for the film will be February 4, 2022. We cannot wait for you to witness this family entertainer on the big screen. See you at the movies. "

Earlier, during an exclusive interaction with OTTPlay, when Rajkummar was asked to give an update on Badhaai Do, the actor said, "Badhaai Do shooting is done and it will be coming up post Hum Do Hamare Do. I'm very excited about the story, the film, and the way it has shaped up. I have seen the film, and that's why I'm feeling pretty confident about it. "

This is the first time we will see Rajkummar and Bhumi opposite each other in a film. Reports have it that the duo will be seen as a "lavender couple" in Badhaai Do. This means Rajkummar is playing a gay character while Bhumi will be seen as a lesbian in the film.
