Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu beat her Monday blues with the film, Badhaai Do and it seems it did wonders for her. The film, which features Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles, is available to stream on Netflix. 

After watching the film, Samantha took to Instagram to share her review of the film. She shared a poster of the film on her IG story, appreciating the story and the performances. She wrote, "Absolutely loved Badhaai Do. An important story told brilliantly with outstanding performances. Love is love.”

The film, Badhaai Do revolves around the concept of lavender marriage. Rajkummar plays the role of a gay cop while Bhumi plays the role of a lesbian PE teacher. The two decide to get married to each other due to familial pressure. The film’s story deals with the issues closeted members of the LGBTQ+ communities have to face due to familial pressures. 

The film was released in theatres earlier. After its successful run from February 11 in theatres, it was released on the streaming platform, Netflix. The makers decided to have its OTT release after a month of its theatrical run. 

Apart from Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar, the Harshavardhan Kulkarni directorial also features Seema Pahwa, Sheeba Chaddha, Lovleen Mishra, Nitesh Pandey, Shashi Bhushan, Chum Darang and Deepak Arora. The script is written by Suman Adhikary and Akshat Ghildial.
