The makers of Badhaai Do have unveiled the full music video of the latest song from the film’s soundtrack. Titled Hum Rang Hain, the song’s music video stays true to the name, showcasing a cornucopia of every colour in the rainbow.
The almost four and a half minute long song, which can be viewed on Zee Music Company’s official YouTube channel, starts off with a soothing piano melody as Shashaa Tirupati’s delightful vocals come into play. The video shows Rajkummar Rao, who plays a police officer, clearing the streets to make way for a Gay Pride Parade. As the community members are seen in celebrations, donned in vibrant colours and costumes, Bhumi Pednekar and her girlfriend Chum Darang are seen joining the merriment as well. As Rao looks on at the event, his longing to be a part of the people who openly embrace their identity is clear and after some encouragement by revelers, he finally joins in.

Hum Rang Hain is sung by Tirupati along with Nakash Aziz, and Amit Trivedi, the latter also serving as the song’s composer. The song has lyrics penned by Varun Grover.
Badhaai Do deals with issues, closeted members of the LGBTQ+ community have to face in the country, through the story of Shardul (Rao) and Sumi (Pednekar), two gay people who enter into a ‘marriage of convenience’.
In addition to Rao, Pednekar and Darang, the film also features Seema Pahwa, Sheeba Chaddha, Lovleen Mishra, Nitesh Pandey, Shashi Bhushan, Chum Darang and Deepak Arora. The film is directed by Harshavardhan Kulkarni from a script, written by Suman Adhikary and Akshat Ghildial.
Badhaai Do was released in theatres on February 11.
