Hosted by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) to recognize outstanding contributions to film, this year's ceremony marks the 77th edition of the awards since its inception in 1949. Adding to the glamour, Bollywood star Deepika Padukone is set to grace the occasion as a presenter.

This evening, Deepika Padukone treated her Instagram followers, numbering over 78 million, to a glimpse of her attire for the prestigious event. Donning a stunning backless silver embroidered saree paired with a matching blouse piece, she exuded elegance and grace. Deepika accessorized her ensemble with exquisite diamond earrings, adding a touch of sophistication. Opting for a minimalist makeup look, she completed her ensemble with a pair of white heels, accentuating her chic appearance.

The ensemble is crafted by the renowned designer Sabyasachi, who has previously designed her wedding attire, adding to the allure of her ensemble. Deepika Padukone will grace the ceremony as a presenter, alongside footballer David Beckham, actor Cate Blanchett and singer Dua Lipa.

What’s special about the BAFTA this year?

Scottish actor David Tennant has been chosen to host the upcoming BAFTA show, succeeding previous hosts Richard E Grant and Rebel Wilson from the years 2022 and 2023, respectively. As with previous ceremonies, Christopher Nolan’s gripping biographical thriller "Oppenheimer" leads the nominations with an impressive tally of 13 nods. Yorgos Lanthimos’ "Poor Things" closely follows with 11 nominations, while Martin Scorsese’s "Killers of the Flower Moon" and Jonathan Glazer’s "The Zone of Interest" each garnered nine nominations.

Among the 23 nominees in the performance categories, a notable eleven individuals have received their first BAFTA Film nomination. These include Sandra Hüller for "Anatomy of a Fall" and "The Zone of Interest," Cillian Murphy for "Oppenheimer," Fantasia Barrino and Danielle Brooks for "The Color Purple," Colman Domingo for "Rustin," Paul Giamatti, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, and Dominic Sessa for "The Holdovers," Jacob Elordi for "Saltburn," Vivian Oparah for "Rye Lane," and Teo Yoo for "Past Lives."
