Bagha Jatin: Dev seeks a new face to be the heroine of his next film

As a producer, Dev is keen to give opportunities to new faces. He has made films with newcomers like Avijit Sen and Rahul Mukherjee. However, many in the industry complain that Dev does not want to give the heroine’s part to anyone other than his girlfriend Rukmini. Dev now tries to clear himself from this allegation. As a producer, his last film’s heroine was Ishaa Saha. Newcomer Shweta Bhattacharya will be seen opposite him in the Christmas release Projapoti. However, it still shows that Rukmini is the heroine of maximum films made by Dev Entertainment Ventures. Now Dev wants to come out of the box. 

The next film by producer Dev is Bagha Jatin, the biopic of the freedom fighter. He is looking for a heroine for this film, a new face who can play Bagha Jatin’s wife Indubala. His production house launched a casting call for the role of a middle-class Bengali housewife at the beginning of the twentieth century. 

What are the qualities looked for? The age should be between 20 and 25. The height should be between 5 feet 3 inches and 5 feet 7 inches. And the girl must be fluent in Bengali. An experience on the stage will be an added advantage. The production house asked to mail the portfolio in the given mail id. 

Dev announced this film on Independence Day. The film will be directed by Arun Roy. Dev appears again in a historical drama, after Golondaj. He wants the film to be perfect and has already started preparation for acting. A few days back, Dev and other members of the team went to Odisha for the location recce. The shooting will start at the beginning of 2023. Dev's fans are excited to see the new face that will play Indubala. 

Dev's next film to be released is Projapoti, which will come to the big screens on Christmas. Dev and Mithun Chakraborty will play son and father in the film, directed by Avijit Sen.
