While talking about 14-year-old cricketer, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Atul Wassan opened up about Sachin Tendulkar and how he has become the God of Cricket. He said, "When Tendulkar came, the world could not believe what a 16-year-old boy could play. Then everybody realizes eventually."

Atul Wassan praises MS Dhoni

He also said that captaincy is overrated in T20 cricket, and there are so many breaks, coaches, and all, so what will the captain do? As per him, people cannot blame the captaincy due to a lack of time. Atul said that the most interesting captain of T20 is Mahendra Singh Dhoni and added, "He has the temperament, the aura and controls the game. Even if he does not make runs, people will not judge because they know he is there so Dhoni is the outstanding captain so far for me."

Recently, Harbhajan Singh made a comment that said, If any cricketer has real fans, it’s Dhoni. The rest are paid." This stirred a storm on social media. Reacting to this, Atul said, "See, what the fans are saying is right, but if you are giving relevance to social media fans, then it's wrong."  

He also said that we should not judge a person by his or her social media followers because it can be misleading but Atul said, "Yes, Dhoni has real fans but people who have actually connected through him over the years, the way Dhoni has delivered beside cricket and trophies, he has changed the culture in India. Dhoni has come from a middle-class family, worked hard, and that gives hope to a lot of people, and I think they are fans of this."
