Atul Wassan talks about Virat Kohli breaking Sachin Tendulkar's records

"During the seventh episode of OTTplay and Dafa News' Bails and Banter, Atul Wassan was asked to share his opinions on whether Shubman Gill can fill the shoes of Virat Kohli like the latter almost did for Sachin Tendulkar. Reacting to Sachin Tendulkar saying many cricketers can fill his shoes, and one of them is Virat Kohli, former Indian cricketer Atul said, "If we are talking about the records, then it is difficult to say. The way Sachin has handled the batting lineup of Indian cricket, by the time Virat came, we had the T20 format also. If you check the records, then he is not talking about the records."

He also added, "By 'fill the shoes', he meant the kind of batsmanship, the stretcher, which is in the middle order, who can carry the weight, so if we are talking about that, then we can discuss because neither Tendulkar's nor Virat's records can be broken because all are different. Virat has broken many records of Tendulkar but also could not break some so I think the upcoming young players cannot break the records in Test cricket."

While discussing the same, Atul was also asked whom does he thinks can fill Virat Kohli's shoes after his retirement. The former Indian cricketer said, "We have Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal. Look at their records. I think Shreyas Iyer is also there."

Fans of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli call the players 'RoKo' lovingly. Reacting to the name, Atul said, "One is Sharma Ji ka beta (son) and the other is Sharma Ji ka damad (son-in-law)."
