Balti: Shane Nigam-starrer sports drama slated for Onam 2025 release

The makers of the upcoming bilingual film, Balti, have dropped a poster as well as teaser. Apart from this, it has also been confirmed that the sports drama will hit the big screen in Onam 2025.

Shane Nigam's Balti release update

This year's Onam will see the simultaneous theatrical release of Balti, Shane Nigam's 25th movie, in Malayalam and Tamil. The actor's other movie, RDX: Robert Dony Xavier, was also released on Onam in 2023 and was a big box office success. 

The details of the actor's character was revealed along with the teaser, which shows Shane Nigam's character escaping from the police while costumed like a muscular kabbadi player. It is unclear why. To the delight of his fans, it generally suggests a fresh avatar for the actor. It has also showed that Shane will be appearing in a character named Udhayan in this film.

Cast and crew of Balti

Debutante Unni Shivalingam has directed this film. The director himself has penned the screenplay for this sports action drama. Under the auspices of STK Frames and Binu George Alexander Productions, Santosh T Kuruvilla and Binu Alexander George are the producers of Balti. The movie was filmed in a number of places in Pollachi, Palakkad, and Coimbatore. In addition to Shane, another important character in Balti is Tamil actor Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, who rose to fame with Sakkarakatti. There have also been rumours that the movie will feature real kabbadi stars. In the upcoming days, more information on the cast is anticipated. 

Shane recently made his Tamil debut with Madraskaaran, which is streaming on Aha Tamil and OTTplay. The actor portrays Sathyamoorthy, who goes back to his hometown of Pudukottai to marry his girlfriend Meera in a spectacular ceremony. However, Sathyamoorthy's fate is altered by an incident that occurs on his wedding day, earning him the enmity of local thugs. Shane is well-known for his remarkable performances in films such as Kumbalangi Nights and Bhoothakaalam.
