Actor-turned-producer Bandla Ganesh, who has been in the news for his production stint and controversial political statements over the last few years, is returning to his first love, acting, with the Telugu remake of Parthiban's award-winning film Oththa Seruppu Size 7. He reprises the lead role played by Parthiban in the solo-actor film that'll mark the directorial debut of Venkat Chandra. Bandla Ganesh was last seen in a cameo appearance for the Mahesh Babu, Rashmika Mandanna-starrer Sarileru Neekevvaru that released for Sankranti in 2019.
The untitled Telugu remake of Oththa Seruppu Size 7 will be bankrolled by Swathi Chandra of Yash Rishi Films. The film is expected to go on floors in the first half of September. The makers say that Bandla Ganesh will undergo a massive makeover for the film and also believe he's best suited to reprise Parthiban's role in the Telugu version. Parthiban starred in and directed Oththa Seruppu Size 7, which won two National Awards including the Special Jury Award and another under the 'best audiography' category.
The technical team of the film comprises cinematographer Arun Devineni, art director Ghandi. The Hindi remake of Oththa Seruppu Size 7, starring Abhishek Bachchan, went on floors recently. The film is currently being shot in Chennai. The film revolves around a moody murder suspect who's asked to explain the modus operandi behind a series of crimes. The unique casting choice for the Telugu version has certainly left audiences surprised. Will Bandla Ganesh pull off the unexpected? Oththa Seruppu Size 7 is currently streaming on Netflix.
