The makers of Dileep and Tamannaah’s latest Malayalam movie had a surprise in store for the fans of the former star on his birthday. Director Arun Gopy along with the team had revealed the first look poster of Dileep’s character in the film as well as the name of the movie, which is titled Bandra.

Sharing the poster, Arun thanked the movie’s producer for making the project, which is scripted by Udaykrishna, a reality as well as expressed his “gratitude and deep love” for Dileep. The poster has Dileep sitting on a leather sofa in a black attire, smoking with a shot gun in his other hand.

The film is loaded with stars. Apart from Dileep and Tamannaah, the movie also has Sarath Kumar, Dino Morea, Easwari Rao, Amit Tiwari and VTV Ganesh in pivotal roles. In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Arun said that the casting wasn’t deliberate to pull off a pan-Indian film.

“The story evolves outside Kerala and so the characters that become part of the plot are also from other states,” he said, adding that the actors will be speaking their native language. Tamannaah will be predominantly speaking in Hindi in the film, which will be shot in Kerala, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.

The movie has already gone on floors and Tamannaah joined the team earlier this month. The movie marks the Baahubali actress’ debut Malayalam venture. On Bandra, Arun, who had previously helmed Irupathiyonnaam Noottaandu and Ramaleela, said that it is an action-oriented entertainer. “It’s made on a big canvas and has a reasonable budget,” said the filmmaker.

The movie is expected to hit theatres only next year. The director said that it will be shot for over 100 days in locations that are apt to tell the story. Meanwhile, Dileep’s next release will be Rafi’s Voice of Sathyanathan, which also has Anupam Kher and Joju George.
