Popular Bangladeshi actor Siam Ahmed will share the screen with Prosenjit Chatterjee and Srabanti. Directed by Sayantan Ghosal, the name of the film is yet to be finalised. Ayushi Talukdar will be seen opposite the Bangladeshi actor. The film, which has the working title Protipokkho, will be shot in London. As per reports, the story is also conceptualised by Siam. Padmanabha Dasgupta developed the story based on his plot.

In an interview with a Bangladeshi media house, Siam said, “I cannot divulge many details of the film. The director will eventually announce the film. All I can say is that this is a family story. It shows two generations. Audiences from both Kolkata and Bangladesh will be able to relate to the film.”

Talking about the plot, Siam said, “I have been thinking of a number of plots. During the lockdown, I penned them down. One such plot has been selected. It is a completely new experience for me. However, I have just penned the plot.”

Produced by Shadow Films and Roadshow Films, the shooting of the film is supposed to start in August. Siam is excited about the star cast. In the interview, he said, “I will have Prosenjit Chatterjee and Srabanti as my co-actors. I will get to learn a lot of things from them. Ayushi will be seen opposite me. I once met her in Dhaka.”

While the initial name of the film is Protipokkho, Prosenjit, Srtabanti, and Sayantan will have another round of discussion before the title is locked.

Earlier this year, Siam also signed a Hindi film, In The Ring with Mithila Palkar and Jaaved Jaffrey. The film is by Alka Raghuram, whose documentary Burqa Boxers (2016) on the burqa-boxing community of Kidderpore, Kolkata, is the inspiration for the feature film.
