Bank of Bhagyalakshmi OTT release date: When and where to watch Dheekshith Shetty’s comedy heist film

Bank of Bhagyalakshmi was Kannada actor Dheekshith Shetty’s first release back home since 2024’s experimental sci-fi film Blink and came shortly after he received a lot of praise for his role as Vikram in Rashmika Mandanna’s Telugu movie, The Girlfriend. A comedy heist drama, Bank of Bhagyalakshmi was directed by debutant Abhishek Manjunath and released in theatres on November 27, following a delay caused by the late arrival of the film’s censor certificate.

The film opened to average reviews, which leaned in favour of its positive aspects, but as has been the case with most 2025 releases, drawing crowds remained a challenge. Nevertheless, the team has managed to bag a streaming deal and the film will be available shortly. In fact, in late December 2025, reports suggested that Bank of Bhagyalakshmi had become available for overseas audiences on a platform, so it was understood that the India release would follow.

The announcement has come now. Bank of Bhagyalakshmi will begin streaming on Amazon Prime Video from January 12, 2026. The film also stars Ashwin Rao Pallaki, Bharath GB, Srivatsa, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Brinda Acharya and Vishwanath Mandalika, among others.

Dheekshith played the leader of a gang of petty thieves, who hatches a plan to lay siege on the local cooperative bank and make away with a sizeable loot that would set up each of them comfortably for the rest of their lives. This was meant to be their last gig. However, when the day arrives and the gang find themselves in the bank, to their dismay, they realize that the vault holds a princely sum of Rs 67,000 only, with the rest of the cash enroute to being dispensed at ATMs.

Surrounded by cops, the gang must devise a plan to make their escape from the premises. In doing so, they stumble upon a massive stash of black money that several politicians had squirrelled away in a secret underground vault at the bank. But can the gang smuggle this loot out, what with all eyes trained firmly on the bank?
