Bank of Bhagyalakshmi trailer: Dheekshith Shetty leads gang of thieves in heist that could mean the end for them

Dheekshith Shetty, who is currently basking in all the attention coming his way for his role as Rashmika Mandanna’s boyfriend in The Girlfriend, is all set for the release of his next in Kannada. Dheekshith is the leading man of Bank of Bhagyalakshmi a comedy thriller about a heist, which will be in theatres on November 21, 2025. The trailer of the film directed by Abhishek M was released on November 15.

 A bank heist that will be the end of them all

According to the team, the trailer reveals only 5% of what the film actually entails. It expands on what they’d hinted at in the teaser – a bunch of thieves attempting a heist and the fallout thereof. It's meant to be their last robbery, but seems like it will be the end of them all. What gives? Dheekshith is joined by the likes of Ashwin Rao Pallaki, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Brinda Acharya, Sruthi Hariharan, Sadhu Kokila, Bharath GB, Srivatsa, Vijay Chendoor, among others.

Bank of Bhagyalakshmi will be one of at least 7 Kannada films releasing on November 21. Speaking at the trailer launch, Dheekshith spoke at length about the importance of audiences watching the film in theatres. “At a time when audiences continue to shun theatres, the big question for the entire Kannada industry is whether or not to make films. And yet, someone like HK Prakash, who has made films like RangiTaranga, among others, has decided to back this film and take a risk. It is, therefore, important that films like this succeed, so that more movies get made and give opportunities to a bunch of artistes and technicians,” said the actor.

Most importantly, though, adds Dheekshith, what’s worrisome is that over the past few years, audiences have increasingly sought the comfort of watching films at home on OTT, catching only big event-led movies on the big screen. This, he says, will lead to a dangerous trend of filmmakers shunning experimentation and the pursuit of fresh stories, and, instead, sticking to tried-and-tested formulaic cinema.
