Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure is a fantasy adventure, in which the eponymous role will be played by Mohanlal

As Mollywood superstar Mohanlal has donned the director’s hat for the first time, expectations are really high for the upcoming movie Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure. The film also has some renowned names on board, including veteran cinematographer Santosh Sivan.
Recently Santosh shared his experience about working with Mohanlal, and complimented him as one of the best directors he has worked with. The cinematographer-director took to his Twitter account to pen a note of appreciation for the superstar, and revealed that he has been having a great time filming Barroz.
Santosh is known for his works in Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi cinema, ranging from being a cinematographer, director, producer and actor. He has won five National Film Awards as a cinematographer, apart from 21 international awards. He had won the prestigious Padma Shri award in 2014, for his myriad contributions to Indian cinema.
Fans and movie buffs have gone really excited after Santosh’s tweet went viral. After all, it came from one of the exemplary talents we have in today’s times. His tweet has further escalated the hype around the unique fantasy flick.
Though the shooting of Barroz was expected to begin in March 2021, the team couldn’t make it due to the second wave of Covid. The production was stopped temporarily then. Recently, the team officially resumed shooting again, with many actors being re-casted. They had to reshoot a few scenes as well.
Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure is a one-of-its-kind fantasy adventure, in which the titular role will be portrayed by Mohanlal. Barroz is a mythological genie, and the guard of Vasco Da Gama’s treasure. The movie is scripted by Jijo Punnoose, who is known for India’s first 3D film My Dear Kuttichathan.
