The long-awaited update on Mohanlal’s Barroz is finally here! The Malayalam superstar took to his social media handles to announce the upcoming fantasy drama film’s release date, sharing the news along with a new poster. Slated to be released on March 28 next year, the movie marks Mohanlal’s directorial debut, and is produced under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.
Mohanlal shares new poster of Barroz
In the new poster of Barroz, Mohanlal takes on a completely different look as the guardian of the Portuguese explorer Vasco Da Gama’s hidden treasure. The actor is seen wearing a royal blue suit, wielding a sword on one hand and holding a large golden shield on the other. Mohanlal’s new look is particularly intriguing, as he perfectly embodies the bald and long-bearded appearance. This intense and fierce look is sure to captivate audiences in the theatres.
Barroz’s plot and cast
The film’s plot revolves around Barroz, who has been instructed to protect Vasco da Gama’s hidden treasure for more than four centuries. His sole duty is to ensure this wealth is passed on to a true descendant of da Gama.
The upcoming fantasy drama is based on the novel Barroz: Guardian of Da Gama’s Treasure, written by Jijo Punnoose. The movie is bankrolled by Antony Perumbavoor through Aashirvad Cinemas. Mohanlal plays the lead role in the movie, while it also features Maya, Sara Vega, Tuhin Menon, Cesar Lorente Raton, Kallirroi Tziafeta and Guru Somasundaram in key roles.
