Barry Season 3 trailer: Bill Hader returns as the titular hitman in new instalment of HBO series

Bill Hader reprises his role as Barry, a hitman for hire who leaves his gory gig to pursue a career in acting, in the third season of the HBO series.

The trailer, which dropped yesterday, takes us through the troubling shift that has taken place in the lives of all key characters. There seems to be some kind of friction between Barry and Gene (Henry Wrinkler), unsurprisingly so after the revelations of the last season. Meanwhile, Sally (Sarah Goldberg) has finally got her big acting break in a TV series. 

Here is the official synopsis shared by HBO: "Desperate to leave his violent past behind in favor of his newfound passion, Barry (Hader) is attempting to untangle himself from the world of contract killing and fully immerse himself in acting. But getting out is messy. While Barry has eliminated many of the external factors that pushed him towards violence, he soon discovers they weren't the only forces at play. What is it about his own psyche that led him to become a killer in the first place? Season three finds Barry and the other characters trying to make the right choice."

Barry is Hader and his Curb Your Enthusiasm and Silicon Valley collaborator Alec Berg's brainchild. The new season will see the return of Anthony Karrigan (as Noho Hank), Stephen Root (Monroe Fuches), Sarah Burns (Detective Mae Dunn), D’Arcy Carden (Natalie Greer) and Michael Irby (Cristobal).

According to Collider, the premiere episode of the series is called "Forgiving Jeff" and is directed by Hader himself. This will be followed by "Limonada", "Ben Mendelsohn" and "All the Sauces", respectively. The other episode titles have not yet been revealed.

Barry will be out on HBO and HBO Max on April 24. The first two seasons of the show can be streamed in India on Disney+ Hotstar.
