Asura: Welcome to Your Dark Side is a Hindi crime drama thriller series that explores a serial killer whose ideology is rooted in Indian mythology. The series has received a lot of love, and fans are awaiting the third season. In a new interview, Barun Sobti, who played a major role in the series, shared an update on Asur 3.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Barun Sobti gave an update on Asur 3, revealing that the writing has been completed. He said that filming has not started yet, and it will take some time for it to start.
Reflecting on the overwhelming success of the series, he told the portal, "It was a very well-written show. It was terrific. The first time I was approached, I was like mujhe kyun le raho ho sir, acha likha hai (Why are you casting me?)"
The series follows forensic experts Dhananjay Rajpoot (Arshad Warsi) and Nikhil Nair (Barun Sobti) as they try to catch a murderer who believes himself to be an incarnation of the demon Kali. It explores themes of good vs. evil, religion, science, and conscience, with a focus on the duality of human nature.
Asur also features Anupriya Goenka, Ridhi Dogra, Sharib Hashmi, Vishesh Bansal, Gaurav Arora, Amey Wagh, Meiyang Chang, and Abhishek Chauhan in key roles.
Barun was last seen in Raat Jawaan Hai. The series is based on the story of finding a balance between being a parent and friendship. It features Radhika, Suman, and Avinash, three childhood friends who are now living separate lives and facing the challenges and joys of becoming parents.
The series is available for streaming on SonyLIV via OTTplay Premium. Raat Jawaan Hai received praise from fans and critics as it beautifully focuses on modern relationships.
