Bastar is now out on Zee5 and OTTplay Premium, and the makers have released a new promo which gives viewers an insight into Raima Sen’s character, Vanya Roy. She plays one of the lead antagonists in the film led by Adah Sharma’s IPS Neerja Madhavan. A globally renowned author on the face, Vanya Roy hides a motive. The promo gives out various hints at why she’s more than just a known author.

The first hint

In the promo released by the makers, we hear that every child in Kashmir is well-versed with who Vanya Roy is. Soon after, she says, “Long live revolution, Ishant Bhai.” This is a clear hint that she’s more than just an author.

The second big hint

Another Television interview clarifies the same. In the same, she is heard saying that the CRPF should not have been sent to Bastar altogether. This is when the topic was the killing of 55 policemen by the Maoists. The bigger hint is when the former minister Rajendra Karma points out how when Roy leaves, there’s a trail of murders after she leaves from Bastar.

Vanya vs Neerja

Vanya and her accomplice Yamuna gave the names of the villagers who were killed by the Maoists, but there’s no substantial evidence to prove the same. Neerja is out to get revenge this time around. Just then, we see Vanya get her way with powerful people protecting her.
