Mammootty, who won a lot of praise for his performance in period folk horror film Bramayugam last year, returns to the suave action mode with Bazooka, which is among the most-awaited Malayalam films this Vishu season. The Deeno Dennis directorial, which is touted to be a game thriller, will hit theatres on April 10, 2025, along with Naslen’s Alappuzha Gymkhana and Basil Joseph-led Maranamass. Now, in an exciting update, the Bazooka team has said that a pre-release teaser will be unveiled on April 9, 2025.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of Bazooka, starring Mammootty and Gautham Vasudev Menon in lead roles, on Thursday. The makers will unveil a pre-release teaser at 10am on Wednesday, before Bazooka’s big release. While making the announcement, the makers also dropped a new poster of Mammootty from the film. The new poster features Malayalam megastar, who appears to be lost in thought.
The earlier released posters and trailer featured Mammootty in a more stylish avatar. Several fans dropped fire emojis in the comment section, expressing their eagerness to watch the Turbo actor on screen.
However, some also complained about the Bazooka team not going all-out with promotions. Some of the Bazooka actors, including Sidharth Bharathan, had given promotional interviews. This, however, pales in comparison with Mohanlal-starrer Empuraan which saw unprecedented promotional campaigns by the lead star Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran. L2 Empuraan, which is the sequel to the 2019 hit Lucifer, released in theatres on March 27 and continues its box office run.
Bazooka and other Vishu releases will also have to compete with Mohanlal’s Empuraan, which seems to be going strong despite the right-wing backlash and the subsequent controversies.
Meanwhile, Bazooka is the second film of Mammootty to release in theatres this year. Dominic and the Ladies' Purse, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, was released in theatres in January to mixed reviews. However, the film is yet to land on OTT.
Last year, Mammootty starred in movies such as Bramayugam and Turbo, which are available to stream on SonyLiv and OTTplay Premium.
