Mammootty-starrer Bazooka is inching closer to its much-anticipated release on April 10, 2025. The upcoming Malayalam film, directed by Deeno Dennis, is touted to be a game thriller. Now, Sidharth Bharathan, who appears in a key role in Bazooka, has said that it is a thrilling cat-and-mouse game that does not resort to violent killing or attacking women. Read on to know what the viewers can expect from Bazooka and how it will be different from the other thrillers that hit theatres recently.
Bazooka, starring Mammootty along with Gautham Vasudev Menon in a pivotal role, reportedly follows a cop who joins forces with an enigmatic figure to capture a deadly culprit. Elaborating further on the genre during a recent interview, Bazooka actor Sidharth Bharathan confirmed that the film is an action-based thriller, but is quick to add that the film bucks the trend of portraying extreme violence.
“Can be said an action-based thriller. It is a cat-and-mouse game.... and mainly no one gets killed. A thriller that does not kill or (attack) pregnant women,” quipped the Malayalam actor, who has also helmed films.
“But very fast-paced thriller on whether this person will be caught or not,” said Sidharth during a promotional interview with One 2 Talks.
Sidharth made the comments as brutal violence in films is much debated in Kerala society these days. Unni Mukundan’s Marco, billed as the most violent Malayalam film, targeted even pregnant women and little children, showing the assault in graphic detail. Now, Sidharth has confirmed that though Mammootty’s film is a thriller, it has stayed away from portraying such ruthless violence on screen.
Notably, Bazooka marks Sidharth’s next collaboration with Mammootty after the acclaimed Bramayugam last year. You can watch Bramayugam on SonyLiv and OTTplay Premium in multiple languages.
