Directed by Atlee, the film revolves around an aspiring footballer who sacrifices his career after his father is murdered. The movie, which opened to great reception, was compared to Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Chak de India. This critically acclaimed film, headlined by Arya and directed by popular filmmaker Pa Ranjith, revolves around the boxing culture of the 1970s. The film follows Kaliban, who hails from Sarpatta Parambarai clan in North Madras, is tasked to revive his boxing career against the clan of Idiyappa Parambarai. The film won critical acclaim for Arya’s characterisation and realistic essaying of a North Madras resident in the 70s. The movie is a must watch for Pa Ranjith’s exceptional direction and if you are a fan of boxing!
