Although there are many projects where Nawazuddin Siddiqui was replaced/overlooked, Shahid Kapoor's Farzi is one that might always remain a shocker. This web series, which streams on Prime Video, was originally supposed to be a movie featuring Shahid Kapoor and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead roles. Although Shahid has become the face of Farzi, Nawazuddin was replaced as the project turned from a film into the web series we know it for today.

What we know as Shahid Kapoor-Vijay Sethupathi's series today, was not always the case. Farzi was originally a movie featuring Shahid and Nawazuddin opposite one another. However, Raj and DK (who are the faces behind Manoj Bajpayee’s The Family Man franchise) decided to tap on the story further and thus, Farzi, which would have ended in three hours otherwise, turned into a web series and continues to expand with a new season upcoming.

As Farzi developed into a web series to tap deeper into the story, Nawazuddin Siddiqui was out of the project. That is when Vijay Sethupathi came into the picture. For the uninitiated, the show also features Bhuvan Arora's Firoz in a major role.

Farzi is back in news because there is a new update on Farzi season 2. Raashii Khanna, who plays the female lead, shared that the second season's scripting process has commenced, but there's no set schedule to its release.
