Besharam Rang debate: Ritwick Chakraborty takes a dig at the ‘saffron’ brigade with ventriloquism

Ritwick Chakraborty and his puppet have already gained popularity on social media with the art of ventriloquism and choice of topics, which are often related to socio-political issues. Earlier, the actor and his puppet took a dig at Paresh Rawal’s ‘fish-gate’ controversy. Now it is the current controversy on the use of saffron colour in Besharam Rang of Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s Pathaan. 

In a video, Ritwick’s puppet asked him, “If you munch carrots in front of the camera, will there be objections raised? This ‘very relevant’ question is asked to Borda, aka Ritwick, by his ‘out of control’ puppet. ‘Why?’ asked Borda, Ritwick. The puppet, which is a white tiger, roars and reminds him, “Hey Borda, think about the carrot's colour. It is being used in a song and lots of controversies are incited. Completely meaningless, no?” Ritwick tried to stop his puppet but to no avail. 

There is a huge controversy doing the rounds over the film Pathaan starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. Ritwick’s white tiger thinks of them as futile. In the new episode of the ventriloquism by Borda, the doll said, “I have a friend. But please do not say anything about their colour.' When Borda got startled, a strange-looking saffron doll appeared on the screen. 

The new doll – also a puppet – was a saffron figure with green curly hair. The tiger puppet introduced it as a friend. It behaved as if it did not care about the controversy about someone who has both green and saffron in its figure. However, the new friend rolled its eyes and then departed silently. 

Evidently, in the video that was posted recently, Ritwick commented on the ongoing controversy over Pathaan’s song, Besharam Rang. He often takes the help of his white tiger to express his feelings through ventriloquism. Some days back Paresh Rawal incited a controversy regarding Bengalis and fish. Then the puppet punned on the actor's name with Bengal’s famous fish, parshe and bowal. 

These small videos by Ritwick are popular on social media. Ritwick frequently appears with the out-of-control puppet, who says whatever comes to mind. Ritwick jokingly said that the puppet got out of his hand. It is difficult to anticipate what the puppet would blurt out and when but Ritwick’s fans are having a gala time over his display of ventriloquism art.
