Sri Simha Koduri, whose career took off with the impressive Mathu Vadalara, followed it up with a series of unique script choices like Thellavarithe Guruvaram and Dongalunnaru Jagratha later. Two of his films - Ustaad and Bhaag Saale - are gearing up for a release in the coming months. Of the two, the latter, a crime comedy, written and directed by Praneeth Bramandapally, will hit screens first.

Bhaag Saale wrapped its shoot earlier this year and the post-production formalities recently. Neha Solanki plays the female lead int he film that also stars Rajeev Kanakala, John Vijay, Varshini Soundarajan, Nandini Roy, Viva Harsha, Satya, Sudarshan, Prithvi Raj, RJ Hemant, Bindu Chandramouli in pivotal roles. Arjun Dasyan, Yash Rangineni, Kalyan Singanamala are producing it under Vedansh Creative Works in association with Big Ben and Cine Valley Movies.
The makers announced the film’s release date today. “Long awaited fun riot, Crime Comedy #BhaagSaale. In theatres on July 7th,” they tweeted with a new poster featuring Sri Simha Koduri on the run. Kaala Bhairava, who crooned for the Oscar-winning Naatu Naatu from RRR, is the composer. Kootha Ramp, a single from the comedy, released months ago, has crossed the 1 million mark.
The film is expected to have a novel premise. Praneeth Bramandapally, the director, earned acclaim for his first theatrical release Suryakantham, headlined by Rahul Vijay and Niharika Konidela. In addition, he has helmed two other popular web shows - Muddapappu Avakai (Youtube) and Nanna Koochi (ZEE5), backed by Niharika as well. His second feature film has a capable technical crew.
Karthika R Srinivas is the editor and Ramesh Kushender is the cinematographer. J P and Shruti Nukala are the art director and production designer respectively. Rama Krishna is the action director while Bhanu, Vijay Polaki have choreographed the dance sequences. Aswatthama, Giftson Korabandi are the executive producers. Bhaag Saale will lock horns with Naga Shaurya’s Rangabali on July 7.
