Abhimanyu Dassani is back, this time for a movie backed by his father, Himalaya. That's right, Maine Pyar Kiya actress Bhagyashree's husband has turned producer for their son's next outing. Abhimanyu has worked on various movies so far, with his last outing being a cameo in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which featured Bhagyashree in a pivotal role. Here's everything you need to know about Abhimanyu's next film with his father...
Abhimanyu Dassani's next film, produced by Himalaya, is a biopic on martyred Sepoy Gurtej Singh. The film is titled Galwan and will be about the 20 soldiers martyred during the Galwan Valley clash of June 2020. Speaking of it, Himalaya said, "This is more than just a film - it is a national responsibility. We are committed to telling this story with deepest respect for those who served."
Galwan is currently in the pre-production stage. The film is scheduled to be shot around Manwa in Punjab, which is Gurtej Singh's hometown. Parts of the movie will also be shot in Delhi and around Ladakh. Notably, the areas are on high alert owing to the tense situation between India and Pakistan currently. However, the movie is likely to go on floors much later. It is currently in the pre-production stage. The female lead of the movie is also left to be finalized at this point.
Abhimanyu Dassani started his acting career with Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, which received acclaim but mostly went unnoticed. The actor got noticed when he appeared in Meenakshi Sundareshwar opposite Sanya Malhotra, but he has only appeared in cameo appearances since, his last being 'Sikandar' Salman Khan's Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.
Bhagyashree's Bollywood career started with Radhe actor Salman Khan. She found a grand entry in Bollywood with Sooraj Barjatya's Maine Pyar Kiya. Interestingly, Bhagyashree also made her Bollywood acting comeback years later with Salman Khan's Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Whether Galwan, like the aforementioned movie, will become a family affair too, remains uncertain at this point.
