Shivarajkumar is known to move from one set to the next with barely any breaks between them, so it is not surprising that even while he has dedicated a lot of time to the promotions of his next, Ghost, he’s also fitting in a few days of shoot of the much-awaited Mufti sequel, Bhairathi Ranagal with director Narthan, in Ballari. Bhairathi Ranagal’s story includes a prequel and sequel, exploring how he came to be a gangster and what happens to him after his incarceration at the end of Mufti.

This week, the actor is shooting in Ballari, from where he will head to Mumbai on the 13th for the press tour of Ghost, which he will follow up with a commentary stint for Star Sports Kannada on October 14 for the India vs Pakistan match. On the 15th he will be back in Ballari, where the team of Ghost is also expected to have a pre-release event. We checked in with Shivarajkumar about the status of Bhairathi Ranagal and going by what he told us, it will be a while before Narthan’s film hits theatres.

“We are shooting in Ballari for two reasons – for starters, the weather is nice at this point of time, plus, we also need to be at a location near mines as part of the story. As for the current status of the film, well, it will easily take us another 60-odd days to finish it up. I also have schedules of Arjun Janya’s directorial debut 45 to finish, as most of the upcoming sequences are combination shots with Upendra and Raj B Shetty,” explains the Century Star.

Ghost, meanwhile, is set to be in theatres on October 19. The team is releasing the Kannada original in about 350 centres in Karnataka, with Pen Studios handling the Hindi version. The Telugu release is being delayed by a week as there are two major films coming out that week – Ravi Teja’s Tiger Nageswara Rao and Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Bhagavanth Kesari.
