Bhairavam is the official remake of the Tamil hit Gaurdan and was directed by Vijay Kanakamedala of Naandhi fame. Featuring Manchu Manoj, Nara Rohith, and Bellamkonda Srinivas in the lead roles, the film was released on May 30, 2025, and took a decent start at the box office.
As there were no major Telugu film releases, Bhairavam managed to post decent numbers over the weekend. On the third day of its release, the film earned ₹2.7 crore net worldwide. With this, its total gross collections have crossed the ₹14 crore mark.
With the holiday season currently on, Bhairavam is expected to get some respite at the box office. However, the IPL match posed a challenge to the film’s collections in the Telugu states—otherwise, it was on track to make just over ₹3 crore on Sunday.
Bellamkonda Srinivas, known for Rakshasudu, is thrilled with the film’s success and says he is delighted that his rugged new avatar is being appreciated by audiences. The Telugu remake includes several changes from the original, with a more mass-appealing approach and plenty of fan-pleasing moments.
Nara Rohith made his comeback with this film, portraying a mature character and emerging as the surprise package of the story. Manchu Manoj of Vedham fame also returned to the big screen after nine long years and got emotional at the press screening. He credited his fans for his continued presence in the industry despite facing significant personal challenges.
Bhairavam revolves around three friends who face ego clashes over a temple land dispute. Zee5 has acquired the digital rights and will stream the film in the second week of July 2026.
For now, it remains to be seen how the film performs during the weekdays. The makers are thrilled with the response and say the film has landed in a safe zone, with all current box office collections adding to their profits.
