Bhairavam is a special film as it marks the comeback of Manchu Manoj, Bellamkonda Sreenivas, and Nara Rohith to Telugu cinema after a gap of five long years. Not many know this, but the film is the official remake of the Tamil hit Garudan. Directed by Vijay Kanakamedala of Naandhi fame, Bhairavam ended as a decent success at the box office.
Bhairavam clocks solid views on OTTplay Premium
The action drama collected close to ₹20 crore in share and ended as a safe bet for the makers. We at OTTplay had already revealed that ZEE5 had bagged the digital rights to the film for a fancy price and would stream the film within a month of its theatrical release. As reported, the film started streaming on July 18, 2025.
The latest update is that in just four days of streaming, Bhairavam has clocked a massive 100 million streaming minutes. This is huge for an action film that already performed well in theatres. Generally, films with clean, family-friendly content do well on OTT, but an out-and-out action drama performing this well is something new.
When the film was released in theatres, a section of the audience felt that it had an overdose of content and was too loud. But breaking that myth, Bhairavam is doing quite well on ZEE5. You can also stream the film on OTTplay Premium.
Manchu Manoj makes a comeback with Bhairavam
Manchu Manoj has made a solid comeback with this film, and his performance has been widely praised. Bellamkonda Sreenivas, who was doing regular films in Telugu, took a break from Tollywood and did a Hindi film titled Chhatrapati, which ended as a big flop. So, for him, this film serves as a comeback vehicle, and he is quite happy with its performance.
Aditi Shankar, the daughter of creative director Shankar, made her Telugu debut with this film. Her role alongside Bellamkonda Sreenivas was also appreciated.
