It was back in 2022 when Bhumi Pednekar announced that she would be starring in a film titled Bhakshak. Shah Rukh Khan's home banner, Red Chillies Entertainment, produces the gritty film, directed by Pulkit. Now, Netflix India has dropped the teaser for the film along with the premiere date on their OTT platform.
Bhumi Pednekar as investigative journalist
The teaser shows Bhumi as an investigative journalist on a tight budget who delves headfirst into horrifying allegations of child abuse at a shelter for abused girls. Bhakshak explores the journey of an unwavering woman’s quest to seek justice. Bhumi, as Vaishali Singh, portrays the role of an investigative journalist who wants to bring to light a heinous crime, laying bare the ground reality of crimes against women.
