Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi OTT release postponed: Here's when the Ravi Teja film is likely to stream

Ravi Teja was going through a series of flops and pinned all his hopes on the comedy caper Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi, directed by Kishore Tirumala. The film was wrapped up in quick time and released as a Sankranthi 2026 special on January 13, 2026. Compared to Ravi Teja’s previous films, the comedy caper ended up as an average fare at the box office.

Ravi Teja underplayed his mass image and went with the flow of the film, which relied more on subtle comedy. Earlier, we at OTT Play had revealed that ZEE5 had bagged the digital rights to the film for a record price and that it would stream from February 13, 2026. 

However, in a last-minute change, the OTT release has been postponed. OTT Play has now learned that Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi will premiere on ZEE5 in the first week of March 2026, with the official OTT release date expected to be announced soon by the makers.

There is also buzz that since Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu is set to stream on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium from February 11, 2026, the platform did not want another big release around the same time. To maximize viewership for the Chiranjeevi starrer, ZEE5 has reportedly postponed the Ravi Teja film’s release. An official confirmation is still awaited.

Kishore Tirumala, who is known for his emotional storytelling, attempted an out-and-out entertainer for the first time with this film. Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi revolves around a businessman who finds himself caught between two women, his wife and another woman he develops feelings for during an overseas trip. How he manages both relationships forms the crux of the story. Aashika Ranganath and Dimple Hayathi played the female leads in the film.

Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi released during crunch Sankranthi 2026 season

The film was released alongside big Sankranthi releases such as The Raja Saab, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, Nari Nari Naduma Murari, and Anaganaga Oka Raju. Due to heavy competition, the makers did not make solid profits but managed to end the theatrical run in a safe zone.

With this film, Ravi Teja managed to put an end to his flop streak, as it showcased him in a completely new avatar. Since a section of the audience missed the film in theatres, there is considerable hype surrounding its OTT release.
