Bollywood superstar Varun Dhawan, who is awaiting the release of his next, Bhediya, got candid at its trailer launch function. He shared that he has transformed from someone who would not listen to his critics, to understanding the voice of the audience and be a part of films like Bhediya.

The actor, who recently completed 10 years in the film industry, was accompanied by Kriti Sanon, director Amar Kaushik and producer Dinesh Vijan on Wednesday at the trailer launch event in Mumbai.

Asked about his decade-long journey in Bollywood and how he changed as an actor with experience, Varun said, "Now, I try to listen to what the audience is saying. I have not done great work in every single film, so I am always trying to hear what others have to say and grow. There was a time when I used to be arrogant and think why I should listen to people when everything is going. But there is always room to do better. At the same time, as an actor, I should also not run myself down. I also want to enjoy the success that I have got from Jug Jugg Jeyoo and what is to come from Bhediya. In fact, Bhediya happened as a result of listening to what the audience wants from me. I want to work with directors and producers like Amar Kaushik and Dinesh Vijan. I think we are ready for such quality films and we will not settle for anything less."

The sci-fi film shows Varun turning into a werewolf, which required the use of quality VFX. Speaking about this, the actor added, "I won't lie that in the past, I have done films in which the VFX was cringe-worthy. Of course, I must have said good things about the same during the promotions. But now, after Bhediya, I am sure that if VFX is required, I only want to work on films that have good VFX."

Bhediya, which also features Deepak Dobriyal, Abhishek Banerjee and Paalin Kabak, will release in theatres on November 25.
