Ashutosh Rana says that Rajkummar Rao insisted on getting hit in order to act out a scene from the movie Bheed.
The senior actor said on The Kapil Sharma Show that he remembers when Rajkummar begged him to hit him during a scene to make it appear real and convincing. At first, Ashutosh wasn't prepared to do it, but Anubhav intervened and asked him what was stopping him from doing the same if Rajkummar was willing to receive the slap for real.
Ashutosh said that, thus, they immediately fired the shot. Fortunately, they had terrific chemistry with the cameraperson, and the sequence worked out well.
Bheed gives a plausible account of the many problems that people had to deal with during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown. It focuses on the difference between rich and poor and shows how the situation was similar to the 1947 partition.
During The Kapil Sharma Show, Rajkummar Rao, Bhumi Pednekar, Dia Mirza, Kritika Kamra, Ashutosh Rana, and Anubhav Sinha promoted their movie.
Bheed will be released in black and white, and talking about the same, Anubhav told IANS that as they were all working in Alibaug, he had this thought. At first, he was frightened to discuss the concept with the team since he feared it would be rejected, but to his surprise, everyone enjoyed it.
The filmmaker added that when the trailer was ready to be released, he was concerned about how audiences would respond to this black-and-white movie since they weren't used to watching it. The present, Mughal-e-Azam, is made in colour, but they are doing the exact opposite. But in his opinion, movies are created from the heart, and that is exactly what Bheed is.
Amid all the controversies surrounding it currently, the film is slated to release on March 24, 2023.
