Anubhav Sinha's Bheed, which hit the big screen in March this year, has finally dropped on OTT. Yes, the film got its Netflix release two months after it premiered theatrically. The film stars Rajkummar Rao, Bhumi Pednekar, Dia Mirza, Ashutosh Rana, Pankaj Kapur, and Kritika Kamra in the lead roles.

In Bheed, an officer's (Rajkummar Rao's) mission to prevent migrant workers from entering the country during a lockdown escalates into a battle for humanity among bigotry and tragedy.

Earlier, while talking about the film, Anubhav said that Bheed captures the complexity and contradictions of our times. In the darkest of times, the social gap in the country is revealed in the story of Bheed. The filmmaker needed to bring this story to life and share it with the audience.

While talking about Bheed's box office performance, the filmmaker told the Indian Express that, naturally, he hoped that people would enjoy the film. It came as quite a shock because he had never before experienced such widespread adoration and esteem. As much adoration as Thappad and Article 15 got him, if not more, that sucked big time. However, Anubhav will assume that the listeners are in some kind of mood. They eventually see the light. It's a natural law, after all. The trend of people not going to the movies seems to be changing.

He viewed it like this: The filmmaker claimed to sob a river of tears on the inside, but it's all right. He believes that people will be tuning in. Sometimes films are found decades after they were made. It took 12 extra years to find Ra.One.

Bheed marks the second outing of Rajkummar and Bhumi together after Badhaai Do, which hit the big screens last year. The film, upon the release of its teaser, drew a lot of criticism and mixed reviews upon its theatrical release.
