Bhushan Kumar - who is producing actor-director Ajay Devgn’s upcoming action thriller film Bholaa, under the T-Series banner - emphasised the reason behind releasing the film in 3D format.
During an interactive session with the media, Bhushan said, “There is a growing market for 3D. I remember our last collaboration, in which we worked on the film Tanhaji (which was also released in 3D), and we got around 60% of our business from 3D release. It means that the audience enjoys that experience. If the film is made correctly with good quality, like the one we have with Bholaa, I am sure we will do well when we release it in 3D.”
Tanahji won three National Awards under the ‘Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment’, ‘Best Actor’ and ‘Best Costume Design’ categories. The trailer of Bholaa was also released in 3D. Bhushan was present at the press conference with the lead actors of the film Ajay and Tabu. Recently, T-Series also produced Kartik Aaryan’s Shehzada and Aasmaan Bhardwaj-directed Kuttey.
Bholaa is the remake of the 2019 Tamil film Kaithi, which was directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. While in the Tamil film, the title role was played by Karthi, in the Hindi remake, Ajay plays the protagonist. Ajay’s last directorial venture was Runway 34, which also starred Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan.
Bholaa is the story of a prisoner, a police officer and a group of smugglers and illegal narcotic drugs. The film also features Sanjay Mishra, Deepak Dobriyal, Vineet Kumar and Gajraj Rao, among others. It’s all set to release in the theatre on March 30.
