Bholaa Shankar was a make-or-break film for Meher Ramesh who was coming back to directing a film after twelve long years. Upon this, he got a golden chance to direct Chiranjeevi in such a monumental film. But all this has been spoilt by Meher Ramesh as Bholaa Shankar has been declared a massive disaster at the box office.

The action drama which was released on August 11, 2023, has opened to a tragic word of mouth and is also out from a few theatres. Keerthy Suresh played the female lead in this film and she was seen as Chiranjeevi's sister. Well, not many know that Keerthy Suresh was not the first choice to play the key sister's role in the film.

Going into details, Chiranjeevi, the main lead of the film, had suggested yet another star heroine, Sai Pallavi's name for the film. The makers also approached Sai Pallavi with a fat pay cheque but the star heroine rejected the offer right away saying that she was not keen on doing a remake and a character that was already played by someone else.

The news is that Sai Pallavi rejecting the offer did not go well with Chiranjeevi as he wanted her badly in the film. But as she did not show interest, Chiranjeevi, suggested Keerthy Suresh's role. Even though she was not that keen to play a supporting character, as she was paid big bucks, Keerthy said okay to the film.

Keerthy's performance in the film has been appreciated and many say that if anything made sense apart from Chiranjeevi, it was Keerthy's role. On the other hand, hardcore fans of Sai Pallavi are super happy that the star heroine rejected the film and saved herself from humiliation from the public and social media trolling.

Bholaa Shankar is being trolled brutally for the way it has been made. Fans are furious with director Meher Ramesh that he has wasted a golden opportunity and was not even able to handle the remake properly. Right from the music of the film to the family drama, nothing worked in Bholaa Shankar.
