Directed by Meher Ramesh, this is the Telugu remake of the Ajith, Shruti Haasan starrer Vedalam
Buoyed by the success of this year’s Sankranthi release, Waltair Veerayya, Chiranjeevi will be returning to entertain audiences in a few months again. Yes, we’re talking about his next release, Bholaa Shankar, the Telugu remake of Ajith’s blockbuster Vedalaam, directed by Meher Ramesh. Tamannaah, Keerthy Suresh play the female leads in the film that also stars Sushanth in a key role.
On the eve of Ugadi, the makers of Bholaa Shankar confirmed that the film would release for the Independence Day weekend. The film arrives on August 11 and plans to make use of the extended weekend to woo audiences. Raghu Babu, Murali Sharma, Ravi Shankar, Vennela Kishore, Tulasi, Sri Mukhi, Bithiri Sathi, Satya, Getup Srinu, Rashmi Gautam, Uttej form the supporting cast.
Interestingly enough, with Chiranjeevi’s birthday (August 22) falling in the same month, the star would be hoping to score a hit and receive his ideal gift for the occasion. A new poster of the film with the leads, Chiranjeevi, Keerthy Suresh and Tamannaah was released to confirm the news and it’s just the eye feast we were waiting for, all these months.
Bholaa Shankar is bankrolled by Ramabrahmam Sunkara under AK Entertainments in collaboration with another reputed banner Creative Commercials. Mahati Swara Sagar scores the music for the film and the team recently shot a remix version of Chiranjeevi’s iconic Ramma Chilakamma number from his blockbuster Choodalani Vundhi.
Dudley is the cinematographer and Marthand K Venkatesh is the editor of the film. While AS Prakash is the production designer, Satyanand is the script supervisor. With dialogues by Thirupathi Mamidala Kishore, the stunts are handled by Ram-Laxman, Dileep Subbarayan and Kaeche Kampakdee. Sekhar Master is the sole choreographer for the album.
Netflix has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of the action entertainer. The original, Vedalam, isn’t available to watch on any OTT platform.
