The upcoming horror comedy 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2', featuring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani, is prepared to hit the theatres this Friday, May 20. The movie is a spiritual sequel to Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan's 2007 hit Bhool Bhulaiyaa, directed by Priyadarshan. The upcoming movie left a few fans baffled as their favourite star Akshay Kumar was not featured in the sequel and now, the 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' director has revealed why.
Bazmee has now explained in a recent interview why Akshay was not the best pick for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. People would realize why the script did not allow him to pursue Akshay after seeing the film, according to the director as per a SpotBoye article.
When people watch the film, they will realise that the script did not allow them to approach Akshay, Bazmee said while speaking to Bollywood Life. He further said that the film is a brand-new drama, and if he were to cast him, he would have to pick up right where the last film left off. And when he chose to make 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2', he always had Kartik, Kiara, and Tabu ji in his mind. He added that he is extremely fortunate that the actors were enthralled by the storyline and are now a part of the film.
The director continued by saying that Akshay is a great entertainer with whom he would like to work again. The two have previously collaborated for the films Welcome and Singh Is Kinng. If something intriguing comes along, Bazmee stated that he would love to work with the star once more.
Apart from Kartik and Kiara, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav as Chhota Pandit, Amar Upadhyay, and Rajesh Kumar also feature in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. The drama, produced by Bhushan Kumar, will feature Kartik and Kiara's love journey, as well as the reappearance of Manjulika after 15 years.
The film is slated for a release tomorrow on May 20. The advance bookings for the movie were opened a few days ago and it was predicted that the opening day of the film would see a collection of over Rs 1 crore, even though the release clashes with the much-anticipated action movie of Kangana Ranaut and Arjun Rampal, Dhaakad.
