Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has become a highly-anticipated Hindi release, which is set to hit theatres around the county on May 20. With fans expecting an entertaining sequel to the iconic Bhool Bhulaiyaa, let us see how the movie will fare at the box office.

First, only The Kashmir Files from Vivek Agnihotri and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi starring Alia Bhatt have done well in the long run this year as far as Bollywood movies are concerned. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Kangana Ranaut’s Dhaakad, both of which will release on the same day, will now try to bring more numbers for Bollywood this year.

According to Pinkvilla, over 30,000 tickets have been sold in cinema chains such as PVR, Inox and Cinepolis in the country for the horror comedy. These numbers are expected to hit over 1 lakh by Thursday night, meaning that gross will likely reach Rs. 1 crore in just pre-release sales.

With the pre-release promotions for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 peaking at the right time and Kartik Aaryan being a familiar name, the movie is expected to make a double digit collection on its opening day. As reported by Bollywood Hungama, Akshay Kumar’s Bachchan Pandey currently holds the biggest first-day collection for a Bollywood movie this year, minting Rs. 13.25 crores.

Also starring Kiara Advani, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav and Sanjay Mishra in pivotal roles, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is backed by Bhushan Kumar. The movie is a spiritual sequel to the fan-favourite psychological horror comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa, starring Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan.

Written and directed by Anees Bazmee and touted to be a family horror entertainer, the movie will hit the theatres on May 20.
