Horror comedy fans in the anxious wait of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 will no longer be disappointed, as the theatrical release date of the film has been announced. The film, directed by Anees Bazmee, that stars Kartik Aaryan in the lead will be out in cinemas on March 25, 2022.

The actor made this announcement with a new motion poster that features him in a dark and eerie setting. Aaryan is draped in a black variation of the outfit he has donned in previously released stills from the film. In the background features a full moon and a murder of crows.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 also stars Kiara Advani, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav and Govind Namdev.

Farhad Samji and Aakash Kaushik have written the horror comedy, produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar via T-Series alongside Murad Khetani of Cine1 Studios.

The production of the film, like many others, had been halted last year due to the pandemic-mandated lockdown. Aaryan had also tested positive for COVID-19 in April this year, which had once again put a stop to the film’s shooting.

Later, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 witnessed several snags in its release. It was initially slated to be out on November 19, but was delayed due to shuttering of cinemas.

Aaryan had previously taken to social media to share his elation at finishing the film’s pivotal climax scene. He also added that it was the most challenging sequence he had shot in his career so far.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is a standalone sequel to Priyadarshan’s popular 2007 film starring Akshay Kumar, which in itself was a remake of the 1993 Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu.
